D23 DAY AT THE WALT DISNEY STUDIOS AND ARCHIVES: SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2010

D23 Members will have the rare opportunity to enjoy a 2-hour tour of the Walt Disney Studios and Walt Disney Archives, hosted by D23 and Archives staff. Guests will have the chance to stroll through the old Animation building where beloved films like Cinderella and Alice in Wonderland were created, see the historic soundstages used for filming Disney classics like 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and explore the beautiful Legends Plaza, which honors those who have made significant contributions to the Disney Legacy. We will be hosting three (3) tours on this day. Each tour can accommodate 50 participants.

To celebrate our first year of making Disney magic for fans around the world, we're throwing a party created with Disney fans in mind! Join the D23 Team at the Walt Disney World® Resort for a wonderful night of magic and memories. The evening's festivities include a private dinner inside the Magic Kingdom's Diamond Horseshoe Saloon, followed by an exclusive viewing of Mickey's PhilharMagic. After the 3-D extravaganza, guests will hear insider details about the upcoming Fantasyland expansion from a Disney Imagineer. The celebration will also feature a sumptuous dessert party, a special commemorative pin for everyone attending, and a host of surprises.

Ever dream you could have a night in Fantasyland all to yourself? We do, too! To grant that wish, D23 is taking over all of Fantasyland for a once in a lifetime bash to celebrate our first anniversary.


D23 is taking over all of Fantasyland for a spectacular bash to celebrate our first anniversary.
The magic begins in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle as D23 Members and their guests are led into the most magical realm of all, Fantasyland! You'll be able to ride the attractions, meet some familiar characters (and some you may not have seen for a while!), and have a chance to see some classic pieces of Disneyland up close and personal, including Walt's Car and Cinderella's Crystal Coach!

D23 Members and their guests will enjoy a wide array of tantalizing Disney-inspired desserts. And, naturally, there will be a few D23 surprises, including a special commemorative pin for everyone attending our party!

D23'S "50 AND FABULOUS" SCREENING SERIES: TOBY TYLER, OR 10 WEEKS WITH A CIRCUS, SATURDAY, MARCH 27, 2010

D23 is proud to present the first film in our new "50 and Fabulous" screening series on the historic Walt Disney Studios Lot. Toby Tyler, or 10 Weeks with a Circus, starring Disney Legend Kevin Corcoran, hasn't been seen on the big screen since its release 50 years ago, and what better venue to showcase the film than the recently renovated, state-of-the-art, 400-seat Studio Theatre? The Theatre first screened Fantasia when it opened in 1940, and the craftsmanship and etched glass are inspired by the artistry of that groundbreaking film.


D23 is proud to present the first film in our new "50 and Fabulous" screening series on the historic Walt Disney Studios Lot, Toby Tyler, or 10 Weeks with a Circus.
Toby Tyler follows 12-year-old orphan Toby, who runs away from his aunt and uncle's home when he believes they don't want him. Toby joins the circus where he befriends the strong man, is exploited by the concessions seller and becomes pals with a chimpanzee named Mr. Stubbs.

This charming film, released January 21, 1960, stars Disney acting vet Kevin Corcoran (Old Yeller, The Shaggy Dog and Swiss Family Robinson, to name a few of his Disney credits) as well as Henry Calvin and Gene Sheldon (both of whom starred in Zorro and Babes in Toyland).

The event promises some special D23 surprises as well as the opportunity to mix and mingle with your fellow D23 Members on the Studio Lot!
