Smoke Brings Disney Monorail To Halt

Smoke Brings Disney Monorail To Halt
From Central Florida news 13

Smoke from a short circuit stopped the Walt Disney World
Monorail System in its tracks around 10 a.m. Wednesday.
A spokesman with the Reedy Creek Fire Department said a circuit breaker shorted out on the station platform at the Magic Kingdom.
Only one monorail train was not at its station. That train was pulled back into the Magic Kingdom station, and all passengers aboard got off safely.
While no one was hurt, some people say it's all just a little too scary.
Jennifer Rodriguez says after learning about Wednesday's incident at Disney, she isn't sure she'd let her family ride a Disney monorail again.
"That does scare you a bit, that you were just on it,” Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez tells us when her family rode the monorail Tuesday everything was fine.  But she wonders if the entire system needs to be replaced.
"The repairs haven’t been up to date because it’s used quite a bit,” Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez says even though no one was hurt, with park goers paying hundreds “everything should be working efficiently for sure.”
News 13 also spoke with people who say they aren't worried by what happened and wouldn't hesitate to get back on a monorail next time they visit Disney.
