Do I hear a gasp? Can anyone really take a trip to magical Walt Disney World ALONE and really enjoy themselves? Well, my answer to that is, WHY NOT?!

My husband is going on a fishing trip the first week in May so of course the obvious place for me to go is my “home away from home”, my “happy place”… Needless to say I am really looking forward to this. I have made reservations for me, myself, and I at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort from May 1-7.

So many princesses, so little time. This was what I said on our last trip back in October. We were at WDW for 5 nights, and on the Disney Dream for 4 nights, how could I have had a “meet and greet” with only two princesses in nine days, you ask? We were so busy doing other things that during the WDW portion of the trip we just ran out of time. We did get to meet Belle, and Merida. It was great to meet them, and we got great pictures, and this is where the heartache begins. One of the evenings on the cruise they had all the princesses in the Evolution Lounge. Snow White, Belle, Cinderella, Tiana and Aurora. We waited in line for about 30 minutes, got up to Snow White (who was first for us), and total battery fail in my camera. Dead. The spare was not in my camera bag, it was back in the stateroom. There was no time to go back and get it, as the line was closed for photos, and we had our dinner to get to in 15 minutes. I was crushed almost to tears.

This solo trip will be totally focused on making up for what, or should I say who, I missed last fall. I have an ADR for dinner at Be Our Guest on my first day of arrival. I am going to have my own “culinary cabaret.” The whole castle theme will get me geared up for meeting royalty! I also have an ADR for 1900 Park Fare for Cinderella’s Happily Ever After Dinner. Excited for this so I can give the nasty step-mother and step-sisters a piece of my mind.

Next I have an ADR for Akershur Royal Banquet Hall. There are more princesses to meet and more photo opportunities to be had. I hear the food and the atmosphere is great as well. I have a local “Disney” friend who will be joining me for dinner, so I am looking forward to this a great deal. Besides this friend, I will be getting together with several other “gal-pals” while I am there. What could be more fun than a “girl’s night” at my favorite place in the world? The final location for princess dining is Cinderella’s Royal Table. I will be having breakfast at this location on my last full day. This will be a first for me, and I am really looking forward to it. Possible princesses to see here are Cinderella, Belle, Aurora, Jasmine, Snow White, and Ariel.

Doing lots of girly things? Oh yes, indeed! I will also be going to some of my favorite attractions as well as a tradition for me on arrival day. I will be going to Magic Kingdom, and the first attraction I will hit is my all time favorite, Pirates of the Caribbean. My other favorite attractions to take in are Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom, Soarin’ and Test Track at Epcot, and Toy Story Midway Mania at Hollywood Studios, just to name a few.

My other main reasons for taking this trip, at this time of year are the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. I have wanted to attend this for years, and now I get my chance. I love to garden, and I love flowers and landscaping, so this is right up my alley. Last but not least, taking in all the sights and sounds of the New Fantasyland. I am so excited to see everything, as I was only able to experience the attractions in Storybook Circus in October.
I will be doing a follow-up story after my return, to let you know if my experience was all I hope it will be. Make sure you watch for that sometime in May.
