Feb. 1986: Country Bear Vacation Hoedown opens in Bear Country as the third seasonal show produced for the Country Bear Playhouse with new songs and dialogue built around vacation experiences.
Feb. 2004: “Show White – An Enchanting New Musical” opens at the Fantasyland Theatre and represents the most elaborate stage show ever produced exclusively for Disneyland. The Broadway-style production is a 32-minute adaptation of Walt Disney’s “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.”
Feb. 14, 1967: Pirates Arcade opens in New Orleans Square and features a collection of primarily one-of-a-kind arcade games all themed to the era of buccaneers.
Feb. 15, 1996: The new Team Disney Anaheim building in the backstage area of the park is officially opened. This new administration complex is designed by noted architect Frank Gehry and is home to various support areas and about 1,200 cast members.
Feb. 18, 1960: Disneyland Cast Members play a role in helping Walt Disney produce the opening ceremonies for the VIII Olympic Winter Games at Squaw Valley. Both the opening and closing ceremonies were orchestrated by Disney and involved 5,000 participants, 1,285 instruments and 2,645 voices from 52 California and Nevada high school bands.
Feb. 18, 2009: Disney announces layoffs and restructuring as cost-cutting measures to keep Disney profitable in the economic crisis. More than 600 executives were offered buyouts.
