New Ways to View Fireworks at WDW
Like many locals, I think I have found the perfect place for watching fireworks at Walt Disney World. Each Fourth of July we have dinner at the Polynesian Resort and then head down to the beach for the water pageant and fireworks. Even though it is crowded, it is nothing like being wedged shoulder to shoulder inside the theme parks. The kids can run around and play, and we beat all the traffic home -- everyone leaves happy.
As great as the Polynesian is, It's really tempted by Disney's sweet new options for viewing the Wishes fireworks in the Magic Kingdom. Beginning Monday (July 13), individuals can book the Pirates & Pals Fireworks Voyage. In the past, the nighttime excursions on Seven Seas Lagoon were limited to groups of eight or more staying at Disney resorts. Now, any adult can pay $53.99 and kids ages 3 to 9 are $30.99, which includes a character greeting onshore. Call 407-WDW-PLAY to reserve.
This summer, Disney is making good use of its often-vacant Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station by offering a Fireworks Dessert Party, which includes reserved seating for the Wishes fireworks and a dessert buffet.
The party begins an hour before the fireworks, but you will be given a specific arrival time when you make reservations.
Adults pay $17.99, and kids ages 3 to 9 are $9.99. Call 407-WDW-DINE for reservations. The dessert party is offered through Aug. 28.
