Frozen Summer Fun Premium Package – A Review By
Florence Porter

When I found out that the Frozen Summer Fun events were going to be happening when I was in Walt Disney World in early August, I changed my plans. I had only planned on being in Disney’s Hollywood Studios (DHS) for a few hours to hit my favorite rides. So, I changed my plans to give the park all day, and to ensure I made the most of my time, I purchased the Frozen Summer Fun Premium Package.

At the time of writing this article, the Premium Package is sold out through September 28, 2014. But, if Disney extends its stay, I think it is well worth the money!

When we arrived at DHS, we received a take-along Olaf. This is an Olaf on a stick to include in photos on social media. While we posted a dozen photos, sadly, none of our photos were chosen to be shown during the final show before the fireworks.

First we checked in near Min and Bill’s Dockside Diner and got our lanyards with our ticket. Inside the reserved area in front of the stage, we were offered bottled water, soda, frozen treats (including Mickey bars!). We were able to get as many as we wanted! Then we watched Anna and Elsa’s Welcome Procession. They stopped right in front of the viewing area and we got a good view of the show. The procession and subsequent show was relatively short. It was probably my least favorite of the special events, but still fun.

We did not go ice-skating, but we did visit Oaken Trading Post. There was a lot of Frozen merchandise: dolls, figures, shirts, towels, and Magic Bands.

We attended the last showing of “For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration” at 7:00 pm. This was a lot of fun. Having the premium pass was worth it here as we were in the third row for the show. This show tells the story of Frozen from the Royal storytellers. They were a riot! And Anna, Elsa and Kristoff make appearances. But, it’s mostly singing. Everyone sings! I would go again, given the opportunity.

At 8:30pm we attended the Dessert Party. There were drinks, cake pops, small frosted Krispy treats, ice cream treat, and chocolate fondue! I should have skipped dinner! Then we were led back to the viewing area for the fireworks show. It starred Anna, Elsa and Kristoff on stage. Olaf is part of the show as he is on the big screen above. Photos from social media are displayed on the screen above. Then they determine Olaf is melting and Elsa asks everyone to help think of their most Frozen thoughts and when she starts to sing Let It Go, the fireworks begin. It was so amazing I got teary! It was definitely the highlight of the night.

Other than the snacks and dessert party and preferred viewing, any guest can enjoy he activities. I recommend a trip to DHS for Frozen Summer Fun! I only hope Disney extends this so I can see it again in October, when I return to the magic!
