Disneyland Monorail
1959
is when the Disneyland Monorail debuted but was named Alweg
Monorail System .08 mile was the total length of the Monorail on
opening day 1961 the track was extended 2.5 miles so that it could
be used as a transportation system 2.5 miles is the length of track
at Disneyland. 15 minutes is the time of a roundtrip ride 1 billion
and more riders have been on the monorail since it first opened. 4
trains are used in Disneyland 4 colors are used on the monorail
trains and they are Red, orange, Blue and Purple 1 monorail has

III put into service in 1969 and was built by WED Enterprises. 137
feet long was the newer Mark III trains 5 car trains were the Mark
V that were put into service on January 23, 1987 and were built by
Ride and Show Engineering. 27 passengers in the 3 middle cars can
be seated on the Mark V monorail. 32 passengers in the 2 end cars
can be seated on the Mark V monorail. 145 passengers are the total
number of passengers per each monorail train. 4 generations of
monorails have been used at Disneyland. 1959 to 1961 the Mark I
were the original Monorails used 1961 to 1968 the Mark II monorails
were in service 1969 to 1988 the Mark III monorails were in service
1988 to 2007 the Mark IV monorails were in service 2007 was the
year the new Mark VII was put into service, with new seating
configuration and sleeker designed.
