Disney Vacation Club is a fantastic points based timeshare ownership program offered by Disney for individuals and families who want to enjoy the magic of the Disney theme parks, the comfort of a luxury vacation home and the draw of sunny locales year after year. DVC has a network of eleven resorts all with fun, unique themes. Take Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas, for instance, which features luxurious suites with private balconies from which families can gaze upon an African savannah that is home to giraffes and other wildlife. There's also Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa, one of the largest Disney vacation resorts, offering guests Victorian bed and breakfast style accommodations, on-site dining and tennis courts. To find the best Disney Vacation Club resort for you and your loved ones, you can read the full descriptions by clicking the red bars above.
Once you've decided on your dream Disney Vacation Club resort, you may wonder how best to obtain your ownership. There are two options open to all new members: you can purchase directly from a DVC resort or you can purchase on the resale market from a current owner. There are pros and cons to each option. Owners who purchase directly from Disney Vacation Club are able to use their points for extras like time aboard Disney Cruise Line and vacations through Adventures by Disney. However, owners who buy timeshares on the resale market are often able to save 30% or more on the initial cost of ownership. All owners are able to redeem their points for time in any of the eleven DVC resorts. If you are considering purchasing a resale, keep in mind that all DVC memberships have an expiration date. Be sure to find out how many years are left on the contract before finalizing the sale. In the end, owning a piece of one of these resorts will provide your family with years of luxury, entertainment and enjoyment. It can be a great investment in future vacations and memories, just be sure to do your research and purchase wisely.
